Now Weight loss surgery industry is adding its focus on teens to make more profits by misleading them.

Unfortunate fact is that this industry is gaining popularity nowadays despite being dangerous, because of the misleading  publicity by the obesity surgeons and associated drug industry in the media.

Not only weight loss surgery is unnecessary but also it deprives teens a normal life. Something which can be easily corrected by a healthy life style, this industry is glamouring it so teens can go for it.

For example in Bariatric surgery, a small pouch is made out of the stomach, so as to reduce the size of the stomach.  Surgeons use a simple logic that if the volume of the stomach is reduced, then people will eat less and loose weight.

By reducing the size of the stomach, surgery restrict the amount of food one can eat at a time and hence the patient feels  full after eating only around 30% of the food they have consumed earlier.

That means after weight loss surgery people would never be able to enjoy their food for the rest of their life and hence being deprived of the normal life.

Not only that, after surgery, complication are endless and even after surgery, patients have to contineously work to  keep their food intake low and maintain a strict exercise schedule.

The point is if patient has to exercise regularly and eat less than what is the point of surgery in the first place.

Weight loss surgery is in any case unnessarily and dangerous and to make it worse guess what, if surgeon started leaving sponges inside patient body and one has to go for another two operation just to get rid of that.

In the recent bariatric surgery horror a experienced surgeon (Dr. Brient) with nearly 30 years of experience left two sponges inside a patient at North Florida Regional Medical Center.

The Department of Health in October filed a order in a case involving Dr. Bruce Brient of Gainesville, ordering him,  in addition to other penalties, to pay $15,000 in administrative fines.

One of the sponges was discovered the day after a 56-year-old female patient had a hernia repaired and a gastric band  placed around the top portion of her stomach to treat obesity.

She had to be opened up again, when the patient came to Brient complaining of nausea and vomiting. Dr. Brient ordered a second set of x-rays and discovered the second sponge. Another operation removed that sponge.

Leaving sponges in the patient body is a most serious medical errors and patient suffer for no fault of her own.

Kate Winslet and Rachel Weisz along with Emma Thompson launched anti plastic surgery moment, million thanks to all three of them from Obesity campaign uk.

Finally somebody is thinking sensibly and helps in motivating others women to believe in themself and to come out of the clutches of harmful plastic surgery industry.

Oscar winner Kate Winslet, has formed a group called the British Anti-Cosmetic Surgery League with her actress pals Emma Thompson and Rachel Weisz. According to Kate Winslet 'Plastic Surgery Goes Against My Morals' “I will never give in,” she told the UK Telegraph.  She added “Cosmetic surgery goes against my morals, the way that my parents brought me up and what I consider to be natural beauty.”

According to Kate getting one's face injected full of Botox also goes against her principles. “I am an actress," she says.  "I don’t want to freeze the expression of my face.

Winslet's friend, Emma Thompson, also agrees. Emma says "I'm not fiddling about with myself," "We're in this awful youth-driven thing now where everybody needs to look 30 at 60."

This is a responsible and sensible movement against the growing unhealthy cosmetic surgery trend in Hollywood and Obesity Campaign UK is proud to support this group.

Going to plastic surgery operation only reflect the feeling of lacking confidence within oneself. Unless there is some mishappening or a accident happened and it is really needed, then it is a different case altogether otherwise if one is confident inside one doesn't need to go to the plastic surgeons at all.

Unfortunately this industry promote their harmful surgery procedure as if they are beneficial and safe and create the feeling of insecurity in people mind by showing artificial photograph and model looking much younger which is not the case.

This anti plastic surgery movement will put a seed in mind of young generation against these unnesseary harmful procedure and will creat the feeling of confidence within oneself.

Dieting alone is not enough for a perfect body weight

Dieting alone is not enough for a perfect body weight. Many people try extreme dieting to lose weight and fight against obesity, which is not a healthy approach. With extreme dieting one may lose little weight for a while but later on process of losing weight stops and inaddition it is not healthy.

The perfect approach is to have a balance and holistic approach towards losing extra body weight.  Holistic approach towards weight loss involves balance diet, moderate exercise, optimum hours of sleep, around 8 to 10 glasses of water and few other factors.

A balanced diet must contain following things in the correct proportions.

1.        Carbohydrates: these provide a source of energy.

2.        Proteins: these provide a source of materials for growth and repair.

3.        Fats: these provide a source of energy and contain fat soluble vitamins.

4.        Vitamins: these are required in very small quantities to keep you healthy.

5.        Mineral Salts: these are required for healthy teeth, bones, muscles etc.

6.        Fibre: this is required to help your intestines function correctly.

Celebrity Trainer and Holistic Health consultant Subodh Gupta nicely explained in his video (below) that practice alone does not make you perfect but permanent. It is the perfect practice which makes a man perfect or gives favourable results.

So if you are trying to lose weight by wrong or incomplete practice, possibly you will be permanent in making a mistake and may never lose weight and may become frustrated.

So when trying to lose weight and fight against obesity, it is important to adopt a healthy and holistic approach involving balanced diet, moderate exercise and optimum sleeping hours.

Secret of weight loss success with motivation

E-mail Print PDF

Unless one has a burning desire to achieve something, it is very difficult to succeed. If one wants to lose weight, one need to give 100 percent and nothing less and then every target seems easy. This concept is put up very nicely in a story by the great Greek philosopher Socrates.

According to story, a young man requested Socrates if he could teach him the secret to success. Socrates agreed and told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning.

Socrates asked the young man to walk with him toward the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise and ducked him into the water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until the boy started turning blue.

Socrates pulled his head out of the water and asked, 'What did you want the most when you were there under the water?" The boy replied, "Air." Socrates said, "That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air while you were under water, you will get it." There is no other secret.

A burning desire to lose weight and fight against obesity is must for successfully achieving the target in addition to the right education. One must remember that a small fire cannot give much heat and similarly half hearted effort or a weak desire to lose weight will not give great results.

London 3rd Nov 2011. Carbonated drinks or soft drinks is something which most of the people drink everyday around the globe and at times it seems that people have replaced milk and water in favour of soft drinks.

For example consumption of carbonated soft drink in America is around 185 liters per person per year.

Drinking habit of soft drinks in UK is also not better. “More than 5,560 million litres of carbonated soft drinks are consumed every year in the UK.”1 Considering at present UK population around 60 million which means each person in the UK drinks about 92.66 litres per year.

However, most people who drink soft drinks unfortunately are unaware of the associated health hazards associated with carbonated drinks.

For example you may be surprised to learn that regular drinking of Soft drinks can leads to

Gaining weight and obesity - Some of the cola brand products can have 210 calories in each 500 ml bottle.

Loss of tooth enamel- A 500 ml of can have up to 53 g of sugar and phosphoric acid, which are dangerous of our tooth enamel.

Increased risk of osteoporosis –Little kids are drinking more of soft drink than milk, i.e. risk of osteoporosis.

Damaging your DNA cell- Research from a British university suggests a common preservative found in drinks such as Fanta and Pepsi Max has the ability to switch off vital parts of DNA.”2

Cancer chemical found in British soft drinks - according to the news on the BBC site “Traces of a cancer-causing chemical have been found in British soft drinks at eight times the level permitted in drinking water, BBC News has learned”.3

Last but not the least it contains pesticides and traces of cancer causing elements as well.

Pesticide in Soft drinks- According to Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) in India “The 2006 CSE study tests 57 samples of 11 soft drink brands, from 25 different manufacturing plants of Coca-Cola and PepsiCo, spread over 12 states. The study finds pesticide residues in all samples; it finds a cocktail of 3-5 different pesticides in all samples”.4

Now the interesting point is that instead of improving the quality of soft drinks in India, soft drinks companies hired “intelligent” film stars of Bollywood such as Mr. Shahrukh Khan to advise or suggest the public that soft drinks are safe. Isn’t it interesting?
